Description

I made this costume the day before the annual Pops Concert for which our theme this year was Gods and Goddesses. It is entirely made of muslin leftover from the costuming of Romeo and Juliet. I drafted a minimalist pattern, put it together and fiddled around with it a bit... voila! Just in time for the concert. The dress is open in the front and hooks together below the bust, the sash keeps it closed and echoes the style of belting seen in art from the Roman Empire.

These photos were taken by ~Bobiscool411 who did a fabulous job. I think they came out incredible. She was very patient and willing to work with my ideas and keep shooting until we had a solid set of photos that I could edit and use in my portfolio. I am very thankful. A tripod is never a substitute for an artist to collaborate with.

Impressive work in all ways -- you project enjoyment in the beauty of your pieces, your pose and I hope you will continue to create and share.  Definitely wowed by the other gowns and corsets you've crafted, and applaud your honesty and musing in comments.  Your Midnight Pleated Prom was the first that caught me, and I've enjoyed all the way through this understated, finely executed dress -- *and* it's from leftover muslin?  All the better :)
